Royal Air Maroc : précisions sur les facilités prévues dans le cadre du dispositif exceptionnel mis en faveur des Marocains du monde

Suite à la mise en place d’un dispositif “exceptionnel” et “historique” pour faciliter le déplacement des Marocains résidant à l’étranger (MRE) en période d’été, en application des Hautes Instructions de Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI, une affluence record a été constatée sur nos différents canaux de distribution -site internet, agences Royal Air Maroc et agences de voyage-. Si les vols de certaines dates ont été totalement saturés, plus de 70% de la capacité mise en place sur la période est encore disponible à la vente. Nous encourageons donc les clients à rechercher des dates alternatives s’ils ne trouvent pas de place à leurs dates initialement prévues.

Par ailleurs, Royal Air Maroc tient à rappeler que l’ensemble des billets émis jusqu’au 13 juin bénéficient, de part leurs conditions commerciales, des conditions commerciales suivantes :

–        Un remboursement du montant du billet sous forme d’un avoir à exploiter ultérieurement sur les vols de Royal Air Maroc, valable 12 mois et remboursable en numéraire à l’expiration de sa validité ;

–        Ou un changement de date du voyage, sans pénalité. A titre exceptionnel, la date de validité peut s’étendre jusqu’au 31 mars 2022 au lieu du 31 octobre 2021 prévu initialement (une différence tarifaire peut être appliquée). Quant aux clients qui ont déjà bénéficié d’un changement de date gratuit, ils auront la possibilité d’obtenir un deuxième changement de date gratuitement, à titre exceptionnel ;

Par ailleurs, les clients disposant d’un billet avec option de remboursement gratuit, peuvent bénéficier de la restitution du montant en numéraire comme indiqué dans les conditions tarifaires du billet.

RwandAir is the first African airline to begin vaccinating all staff against Covid-19

RwandAir is the first African airline to vaccinate all staff against Covid-19, which will position the carrier as one of the safest on the continent.

The airline began its vaccination rollout programme earlier this month targeting all staff and crew who received their first shot.

Non-airline staff at Kigali International Airport, the airline’s hub, have been vaccinated as well to ensure a safe and secure environment for all passengers.

The drive comes just after RwandAir announced it will be the first carrier in Africa to start trialling the IATA Travel Pass in April 2021 to enable the safe resumption of international travel.

Yvonne Manzi Makolo, CEO of RwandAir, said: “Rwanda’s rapid roll-out of the first consignment of vaccines to arrive in the country prioritized all frontline workers, including RwandAir’s staff and crew. The vaccination programme has been designed to ensure we provide a safe and secure environment for travellers, both in the air and on the ground.”

“We have carefully considered every customer touchpoint at Kigali International Airport and on board our aircraft, as the world resumes travelling in the post-Covid era.”

RwandAir to be the first African airline to trial IATA Travel Pass

RwandAir will become the first African airline to trial IATA Travel Pass to enable safe and seamless international travel. The airline will begin a three-week trial in April for customers travelling between Kigali and Nairobi in Kenya. IATA Travel Pass is a digital platform to help passengers easily and securely verify that they comply with COVID 19 test or vaccine travel requirements, in turn giving governments the confidence to reopen borders. Developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the trade association for the world’s airlines, the platform is designed to be incorporated into airlines’ own apps, so travellers by air easily understand what they need before they fly.

The trial app has a range of features, including a registry of testing centres and labs at the departure and/or arrival location which can conduct COVID-19 tests in accordance with the type of test required for the journey. RwandAir customers participating in the trial will create a ‘digital passport’ which verifies that their pre-travel COVID-19 test or vaccination meets the requirements of the destination they are travelling to. They will also be able to safely and securely share their test and vaccination certificates with participating authorities and airlines around the world to ensure smooth and seamless travel.

Astral Aviation commits to helping UNICEF in its historic mission of transporting COVID-19 vaccines in Africa and The Middle East

Nairobi, 16 February 2021 – Astral Aviation Limited has signed an agreement with UNICEF to support the launch of its Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative for the prioritization of delivery of COVID-19 vaccines, essential medicines, medical devices and other critical supplies to respond to the pandemic.

“Delivery of these life-saving vaccines is a monumental and complex undertaking, considering the sheer volumes that need to be transported, the cold chain requirements, the number of expected deliveries and the diversity of routes” said Etleva Kadilli, Director of UNICEF Supply Division. “We are grateful to these airlines for joining forces with the UNICEF Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative to support the roll-out of COVID-19 vaccines.”

“We are truly honored for being selected by UNICEF to participate in the Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative, based on our track-record in performing humanitarian flights within Africa and the Middle East in the past twenty years. We will be placing our entire fleet of B747F, B767F, B727F, DC9F, CRJ-200, Fokker 50 and Fokker 27 on high priority, which is critical to the timely and secure delivery of vaccines and critical supplies, as we consider it our moral-obligation to ensure that no person in Africa is left-behind due to lack of aircraft capacity, re-affirms Astral Aviation’s CEO, Mr Sanjeev Gadhia”

The UNICEF Humanitarian Airfreight Initiative brings together the airlines covering routes to over 100 countries, in support of the COVAX Facility – the global effort aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines. Based on the COVAX Facility’s indicative distribution and first round allocation plan, 145 countries will receive doses to immunize around three per cent of their population, on average, starting in the first half of 2021, subject to all requirements being met and final allocation plans.

In addition to prioritizing shipments of these life-saving supplies, Astral Aviation will take measures such as temperature control and security, while also adding freighter capacity to routes where needed.

Safe, timely and efficient transportation of life-saving supplies is critical to supporting access to essential services for children and families. COVAX deliveries and the subsequent vaccination of frontline workers will support health and social care systems to safely resume these critical services.

RwandAir expands into Central Africa with new route to Bangui

RwandAir is set to launch a new route into Central Africa with flights to Bangui.

The launch of the new intra-African service to the Central African Republic is part of RwandAir’s recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as it opens up new markets and destinations.

The Kigali-based airline will fly to Bangui the capital of Central African Republic, twice a week from February 3 2021, with flights operating on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Tagged to the existing route to Douala in Cameroon, the flight will be operated by one of the airline’s existing Boeing 737 aircraft, offering customers a choice of seats in two cabins, Business Class and Economy Class.

Yvonne Manzi Makolo, RwandAir CEO, said: “The launch of our new twice-weekly service to Bangui will open up a new lucrative market for RwandAir and help stimulate trade in the region and beyond Africa”.

Precision Air Launches Training Center

Tanzania Leading Airline, Precision Air has announced the opening of its training center after receiving Approved Training Organization certification from Tanzania Civil Aviation.

The training center is expected to offer Cabin crew Initial course, Crew Resource Management course, Aviation Safety Management course, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Course, Aviation Security Course and Aircraft Weight and Balance course among others.

Quoted in the press release Precision Air’s Managing Director and CEO Mr. Patrick Mwanri said, the Center will kick off with Cabin Crew Initial course effective from 1st March 2021.

“We are excited about this achievement and we are looking forward to produce competent candidates for aviation sector in Tanzania and beyond. We have an established experience in this industry and we intend to use it train Tanzanians who will fill the manpower gap in the aviation industry in Tanzania. We have many Precision Air alumni’s working in various local and international organizations/companies that gives us more confidence to be able to provide more competent professionals for the aviation sector” He added.

Precision Air training center, will be located at the airline’s Head Quarter in Dar es Salaam and the applications are now open for the aspiring candidates. The press release also hinted that other courses except for Cabin Crew Initial will be conducted on request.

“Our center is not for beginners only, but we are also offering on-job training, recurrence trainings for air operators as well other aviation faculties. We are now accepting training request from third part organizations and ready to offer classes that meet international standards. Mr. Mwanri explained further.

Royal Air Maroc lance une nouvelle ligne directe entre Casablanca et Dubaï

Casablanca, le 06 Janvier 2021 – Royal Air Maroc lance, à compter du 28 mars 2021, une nouvelle route aérienne directe reliant Casablanca à Dubaï. La Compagnie Nationale mettra à la disposition de ses clients trois fréquences par semaine.

Les vols au départ de Casablanca seront opérés tous les mardis, jeudis et dimanches, avec une durée de vol de sept heures et demie. Le décollage sera programmé à 20h05 (heure du Maroc) pour une arrivée à Dubaï à 06H35 (heure locale).

Quant aux vols au départ de Dubaï, ils seront programmés tous les lundis, mercredis et vendredis, avec une durée de vol de huit heures. Les vols décolleront à 08h35 (heure locale) pour une arrivée à Casablanca à 13h35.

Les vols seront effectués par des avions de type Boeing 787 Dreamliner, avion de dernière génération, performant et écologique, offrant une excellente prestation de confort et de sécurité.

Cette nouvelle route aérienne répond aux attentes de la communauté marocaine établie aux Emirats Arabes Unis ainsi qu’à l’ensemble des voyageurs touristiques et d’affaires marocains et émiratis.

La souscription à ce programme d’assistance est automatique à l’achat du billet Royal Air Maroc et couvre le passager dès son embarquement sur le vol Royal Air Maroc pour une période de séjour de 31 jours maximum. Par conséquent, si le passager est testé positif à la COVID‑19 au cours d’un voyage à l’étranger, il pourra bénéficier de la prise en charge de ses :

  • Frais médicaux liés à la pandémie à hauteur de 150 000 € maximum ;
  • Dépenses d’hébergement relatives à la mise en quarantaine obligatoire pendant le voyage à hauteur de 100 euros par jour pour une période de 14 jours maximum ;
  • Frais de rapatriement en cas de décès dû à la pandémie.
