The African Airlines Association (AFRAA) is the leading trade association of airlines which hail from the nations of the African Union.
Establishment: Founded in Accra, Ghana, in 1968.
Membership: 50 airlines comprising of all the major intercontinental African operators and the Association’s members represent over 85% of total international traffic carried by all African airlines.
Partnership: 35 partners enrolled in the AFRAA partnership programme for the development of air transport in Africa. Partners comprise of aircraft and engine manufacturers, aviation equipment and component suppliers, global distribution companies, IT & e-commerce solution providers and other non-airline entities in the aviation sector.
